~Review~ Camping Folding Shovel Pick With Compass

We camp ALOT...every year. It is one of our favorite things to do as a family. We also prefer backwoods tent camping so the equipment you need for that is not the same as your run of the mill electrified campgrounds. I was offered to test this Camping Folding Shovel Pick With Compass by CLD Brands and knew it would come in handy.

This is a mini shovel. It comes apart in a small bag with a velcro closure. It is small enough to fit in your pocket, glove box, truck, you can attach to your belt or put it just about anywhere. As you will see in the video it takes seconds to put together. You basically just screw it together. It is easy enough for anyone to do. The shovel works as a shovel, pick, saw, bottle opener and compass. This would make an excellent addition to an emergency kit. It could be a life savor if you get stuck somewhere in the winter.

Now for the down sides. This is too small to be super helpful in a really tough spot. It has some plastic, and the compass well yes I would not rely on it for guidance. I suggest packing a better one. But for back packing, camping or just an emergency this is a great tool and a great price.

A Day at Alley Mill Spring Eminence, Missouri Part 1

My husbands two children came home for Spring Break last week. This is a super small rural area and so we were at kind of a loss on where to go. Very close by in Eminence, Missouri is Alley Mill Spring..it's beautiful with caves and hiking. That is the perfect place to take active kid we thought, and we were right!

As always when we go anywhere we learn something new.. that day we taught the kids about Watercress that grows in the Spring there. We even all tried some. Nikolas thought it was grand, but the older kids not so much. It's pretty bitter fresh like that, but has a ton of vitamins. Eat away kids, eat away! The flowers are just pretty, no idea what they are.. I can't be expected to know everything, come on!

Come on Mom..... we have some hiking to do. I want to climb the rocks..and boy did he...

There isn't much to be said, except that these are AWESOME. Very high quality Set of 2 20-Ounce Double Wall Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Sports Water Bottles with Leak-Proof Flip Top. These are heavy duty solid bottles. The lid's seal tightly with NO leaking what so ever.

We have used these Francois et Mimi Water Bottles everywhere..School functions, hiking, camping, outside working in the yard. They keep your water cold and fresh. There is no funny metallic taste at all. They are not heavy considering they are stainless steel, and they fit in cup holders, and water bottle cases or netting. They are easy to clean with a bottle brush or can be washed in the dishwasher. I love them and will certainly be looking for more from Francois et Mimi.
