~Review~ Fitglam 50s Vintage Swimsuits

~I received this free for my honest and unbiased review. If you click on a link on this page Primitive Gypsy will make a small commission.~

I just love these new retro looking swimsuits. I have tried a few. Those high waisted one's are adorable in the photos but on make you look like you're smuggling a whale. So I knew this style would look better. I wanted the black with the adorable red cherry pattern on it.

I am really enjoying this swim suit. I ordered the 14 because I am in a 12/14 and it was slightly loose but super comfy and not bad looking. It looked so much nicer than the two-piece versions. It was slightly big in the chest but you can't tell because of all the cushy padding. It ties behind the neck and never has come undone even floating. The ruffle area was also slightly loose but not enough to matter. I would say if your in a 12 go a size down maybe as long as your chest isn't huge. The suit itself is soft and stretchy. It's easy to put on and just adorable. They also have other patterns and colors. I would buy another one because I adore this one.

You can order your own Fitglam Swimsuit on Amazon. The prices are super reasonable. I would most certainly recommend it.

Get Healthy with Ultra Pure Omega 3 Fish Oil Capsules

I received this at no cost for my honest and unbiased review.

I am always on the lookout for new and better supplements to try. I have so many medical problems I couldn't even list them all. So while I do have to be careful many of the basics work just fine. I received the Ultra Pure Omega 3 Fish Oil Capsules a couple weeks ago. Your daily amount is 2250mg and three soft gel capsules. That is always so helpful for me as I have a very hard time swallowing pills, especially anything large or with a hard coating. These are a soft gel so they just slide right down. No choking or gagging necessary. The bottle comes with enough of a supply for a full forty days which is really unusual and gives you some time to re-order when a month is up.

Taking these Omega 3 Fish Oil Capsules was easy. They go down fast and don't taste bad. They are fish oil capsules though so you will have some aftertaste, just nothing up front. The best way to take these is with meals and that will also eliminate that crazy taste. This Fish Oil is chalk full of DHA and both are so good for you. They have so many healthy properties. It's wonderful for your brain, can help increase good cholesterol and not that bad kind. Also, can help you with dry eyes and maintaining your eyesight. There is a reason grandma takes Omega 3, and doesn't she always know better than we do?

I have certainly noticed a change in how I feel following using these. I have a bit more pep to my step and less fatigue. They seem to work well and I will certainly be getting them for many more months.

Now don't think taking these Ultra Pure Omega 3 Fish Oil Capsules will be a cure all. It's still very important to eat healthy and exercise. Some great tips to use with your Fish Oil are to eat your nuts and greens. Just add a small handful of unsalted nuts a day to your diet and a portion of leafy green veggies daily. Don't forget those eight glasses of water a day to stay hydrated. Following a healthy diet, and drinking your water, follow up with some daily exercise. It doesn't need to be much. Start off your morning with some light stretching and yoga, take an evening walk with your partner and get talking. Communication is also a key to being healthy. Don't forget about it!

Find them HERE on the Website!

Note- These statements have not been verified with the FDA. These are just my opinion and to be taken as such.

~ Review ~ Rain Chain Great Gift for Mother's Day!

I received this free for my honest and unbiased review. If you purchase from the link below my friend at MommaBearsBook Blog will receive a small commission. I will receive nothing.

Ok, how can you not love these? This is just a lovely example of a rain chain. Never heard of them? Well you have no idea what you're missing. This is a simple concept. Replace your gutter downspout with the rain chain. It's simple to install. Then wait for the rain. When it rains this makes such a lovely tinkling sound when the rain hits it and goes down the chain. It rained right after we put it up and I just love listening and watching it. I can sit on my big wrap around porch and see it.

This rain chain is nice and long, and extends from the gutter almost to the ground. Mine is maybe a foot away from it. I have mine hanging over a flower bed but it works really well over a barrel or something you may use to collect rainwater. Then you can water your garden, flowers and pets. The rain chain is nice and light in weight making it not an issue to hang from your gutter. It will not cause your gutter to fall or sag. It sways in the wind and doesn't pull at your gutter.

This rain chain comes with an easy to install v section for your gutter. My husband had it up and ready to go before I had even asked. I had been wanting one of these for ages, admiring them at friends homes. I am just as thrilled with it as I thought I would be. I adore the beautiful copper patina that in no way detracts from the house or yard. It's just a lovely addition to our front porch. I will most certainly be buying more, including one for my mom for Mother's Day as she has been eyeing mine.

You can buy one of your own HERE on Amazon.

A Day at Alley Mill Spring Eminence, Missouri Part 1

My husbands two children came home for Spring Break last week. This is a super small rural area and so we were at kind of a loss on where to go. Very close by in Eminence, Missouri is Alley Mill Spring..it's beautiful with caves and hiking. That is the perfect place to take active kid we thought, and we were right!

As always when we go anywhere we learn something new.. that day we taught the kids about Watercress that grows in the Spring there. We even all tried some. Nikolas thought it was grand, but the older kids not so much. It's pretty bitter fresh like that, but has a ton of vitamins. Eat away kids, eat away! The flowers are just pretty, no idea what they are.. I can't be expected to know everything, come on!

Come on Mom..... we have some hiking to do. I want to climb the rocks..and boy did he...

~Review~ 150' Gorilla Hose with Solid Brass Ends

~I received this for my honest review, all opinions are 100% my own.~

I have to tell you I was so excited at the opportunity to review this hose. We just moved and we needed a new hose right away. Our yard is really big so it also needed to be a big one. The 150' Gorilla Hose is brilliant.

This hose is super light, first off. I can't carry anything being on pain 24/7 and I can carry this all over the yard. It weighs very little. It rolls up really small and is super easy to store. There is no kinking or loss of pressure. All the fittings are solid brass. What does this mean for you? It means no leaking. There is no place for it to break so it can't.

The hose itself expands to 150 feet. Seriously? I can water my entire yard with the one hose, front and my very large backyard and garden. It's made gardening so easy. Before if I needed water I would have to tote buckets from the hose. You can imagine how long this would take. It also has an off switch so I don't have to keep walking back to turn it off. I can wait till I am finished.

I have not noticed any form of wear or tearing. This is the nicest quality of the "Green" hoses I have seen or used. It's well worth the cost and I think it will last me forever. If this didn't reach as as far as it does I would buy another!

You can buy your own 150' Gorilla Hose with Solid Brass Ends on Amazon.

~Review~ Francois et Mimi Set of Two Water Bottles

~I received these for my honest review, all opinions are 100% my own.~

There isn't much to be said, except that these are AWESOME. Very high quality Set of 2 20-Ounce Double Wall Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Sports Water Bottles with Leak-Proof Flip Top. These are heavy duty solid bottles. The lid's seal tightly with NO leaking what so ever.

We have used these Francois et Mimi Water Bottles everywhere..School functions, hiking, camping, outside working in the yard. They keep your water cold and fresh. There is no funny metallic taste at all. They are not heavy considering they are stainless steel, and they fit in cup holders, and water bottle cases or netting. They are easy to clean with a bottle brush or can be washed in the dishwasher. I love them and will certainly be looking for more from Francois et Mimi.

You can buy your own Francois et Mimi Set of Two Water Bottles on Amazon.

Celebrate National Bubble Week

Spring is just around the corner and with it comes flowers, warm weather, children playing outside and National Bubble Week (March 8th – 14th). National Bubble Week originated in 2000 as a way to celebrate spring. Because bubbles are such an iconic, fun toy, it’s only natural to use them to bring in the season.

Here are some ways everyone can celebrate!

First, get some bubbles!

Gazillion Bubbles solution makes the biggest, brightest and most colorful bubbles around! And ramp it up with awesome bubble toys!

Gazillion Bubble Monsoon — create a skyward storm of bubbles instantly! Simply replace the cap on the bottle of bubble solution with the auto-feed cap (included), attach the solution bottle to the machine, press the button and watch in amazement as the sky fills with bubbles!

Gazillion Bubbles Tornado — This machine may be small, but once you pour in Gazillion Bubbles solution, you’ll instantly see an endless flurry of bubbles with the Gazillion Bubbles Tornado!

Gazillion Bubbles Bump-N-Go Bubble Car – Fuel the car with Gazillion Bubbles solution, turn the car on and watch as it drives around, blowing bubbles on the go! Don’t worry if it bumps into something, it will change direction and keep moving while a trail of bubbles follows in its path!

Try out some bubble tricks!

How do bubbles work? Are bubbles always round? What happens to bubbles when you change the temperature? Test out these questions and more with fun, easy bubble experiments which are great for homeschoolers, I know that we’re always looking for ways to make learning fun!

Download a PDF file of all the bubble experiments

Take the bubble test!

Did you know:

A Bubble Gets Its Color From Iridescence: As waves of light pass through the bubble, it gets distorted by reflecting off different layers of soap film.

You Can Freeze Bubbles: A bubble’s shell is composed of a layer of water molecules surrounded by two thin layers of soap. Technically, a bubble will freeze below 32 degrees Fahrenheit like all water. The only problem is that bubbles tend to burst after a few seconds, so in order to see a bubble freeze, the temperature needs to fall to a temperature that will freeze water molecules more quickly.

Why Do Bubbles Burst?: Anything that fractures the tenuous layer of water molecules can cause a bubble to burst. For example, a gust of wind or an object (like your finger) will easily cause a bubble to burst. Also, a bubble will burst if enough of the water molecules evaporate.

Many Bubbles Makes A Foam: When many bubbles are joined together, it becomes a foam. From cappuccinos to the foam on the top of your beer, bubbles are all around us.

Gazillion Bubbles are loved the world over by people of all ages. There’s even a Gazillion Bubble Show in New York City, which I know that all kids would LOVE to go to! There is also an exhibit at the Southern California Children’s Museum focused on them. For kids, bubbles are pure fun for spring and summer outdoor frolic. For adults, (where you’ll find them at events such as proms, weddings and more,) they symbolize peace, harmony and beauty.

Start BUBBLE SEASON right, and pop into a store today to stock up. And don’t forget to share your bubble memories and enter the annual photo contest with prizes monthly March 1, 2015 to August 30, 2015.

Water Woes May be Over

I ~think~ that we have it. Everyone jump up and down with me. I took a bath, a HOT bath tonight for an hour. Water, sweet precious water! Never again will I take you for granted! Keep your fingers crossed!

It's On Water, It's On!

So yesterday we think we finally have it. We ended up buying a new hot water heater after we opened up the electrical on the old one and it was full of water. YIKES! So all day it gets worked on because we've had enough. Don needs a shower and my fibromyalgia pain is out of control and I need a hot bath. I got so far as even cleaning the bathtub and getting excited. About 5 minutes into bathroom cleaning and you hear whooosh. I literally started crying. We found the leak on the hot water side right below the tub, no problem. We'll get to it in the morning, at least we have cold water. At least we can finally use the toilet. No problem all night, and this morning I get up and the toilet won't flush. Your kidding me right? NO I am not. I go running outside and the meter is screaming around. Go out back and we have a flood. Who knows how long this has been going on, could of been all night.

I could really use a hug right now.

Saturday, January 17, 2015

Moving....and the flood...

Yep we love to move. Ok not really. I mean who loves packing up and moving all the time? What we like is going to new places. We decided awhile ago that while we love living on the farm we really wanted to be in town for the kids. Now when I say town what I really mean is one horse town. Summersville....population 500. Now population 507! We've been watching and waiting for a place. Houses in town don't come up often. So we finally find one (the hovel we called it) and were going to move and got a call that a much bigger, roomier place opened by the school. Still a hovel, but a hovel with potential.

We started our demolition yesterday. The previous tenants left everything they'd owned inside and in the front yard. When anyone asks where we are moving, I say you know that house by the school with all the trash. Seriously...I bought three boxes of garbage bags. What's sad is some of it's not bad. It's not my style, but it's not bad. So you have to wonder why? The neighbor came over and was so happy. No kidding! I'm happy someone is cleaning it and I didn't have to look at it everyday.

You know I could have a fine collection of yard art, a toilet, a sink, a broken birdbath, chaise lounge! Ha ha....No I'm totally kidding. What I was thrilled to see was hardwood under the old green carpet. We pulled that sucker up quick. Even better it's in pretty good shape. There is one spot where they started to paint it and then stopped....but we can sand that.

The kitchen is kind of cute, it can be left for now with just some paint touch-ups. The bathroom on the other hand....well it needs some serious love and new...EVERYTHING!

Today's plan was water on, internet called, more carpet pulling, top to bottom bathroom clean. Well that ended at water on. Yes the water was on for Noah. His ark would of gone in the yard nicely. Pipes must of froze, water poured out from under the house. Don spent all afternoon and evening in a foot of water. He will be finishing his scuba adventure tomorrow.

So for now we are cleaning and fixing. Lot's of painting to do, lots of trash to clean up and burn. It's a slow process. We still plan on having animals, especially chickens. The pig will stay at the farm till she's bacon ready. Off on a new adventure!
